Gisteravond hebben R. en ik de Taiwanese science-fiction porno-musical (!) The Wayward Cloud gezien. Als de slotscène niet zo walgelijk was geweest (“What is going on in this final scene of The Wayward Cloud? It is not enough to say that the scene is dark and shocking, and that the film is thus an accusation of pornography, an exposé of sexual alienation and commodification…”), had ik deze titel ongetwijfeld toegevoegd aan mijn lijstje van favo films allertijden.

Maar goed, los van dat einde valt er heel wat te genieten. De musical-intermezzo’s zijn hilarisch en maken het toch al ongewone geheel nog een tikje absurdistischer. Mafste scène is deze kleurrijke versie van Tennessee Ernie Ford’s 16 Tons.
